I bought the padded Merino for Enduro.  The knee pads are not rubbing on my legs. Great. 
The socks are fine in hot weather, and comfortable.  Not itchy at all.

These Motocross socks are very good. The best I’ve tried. They are breathable, comfortable and soak up the sweat. I tried them in real dusty conditions, and they drew the sweat away from my skin and protected me from knee guard and knee braces The thigh high length is excellent. I like that they come in a set with the ankle socks to wear before and after riding. I’m very happy with this product.

I really like these Motocross socks. They're fabulous. They come up well over my knees and don't slip down. Great for stopping my knee pad straps from cutting into me. They're not as thick as other socks I've had, but warm, and they are wearing well and not getting holes in them. I think they are cool.

I work with motorbikes, and ride on and off road for pleasure. I think these below knee socks are fantastic. They're very comfortable, not bulky and in Wellington's weather, warm. The wind doesn't whip up my legs when I'm road testing for work and they stay up. I've been wearing them all winter and they are lasting very well. I'd recommend them to any bikers.
